Winter in the Wineries Passport

Occurs: First Saturday in December through Second Sunday in February

Event Description: An annual wine tasting passport, which grants holders complimentary wine tastings at all participating wineries and discounts on lodging, dining, retail and spa experiences. Digital passports are available.

Promotion of Calistoga: The Passport program serves to promote Calistoga during the winter off-season (branded by Visit Napa Valley as Cabernet Season).

Funding Source: This program is fully self-funded by participation fees and ticket sales.

Number of Attendees: 3,500–5,500 people

Visitor/Local Attendance Ratio: Over 90% visitors

 

 

Yoga in the park

Wellness Weekend

Occurs: One weekend in May

Event Description: A uniquely Calistogan event with the theme of the healthy living, enhanced by the city’s spas, mineral pools, outdoor experiences and healthy dining. Numerous events are scheduled during the week, including outdoor yoga, exercise, hikes and bike rides.

Promotion of Calistoga: Wellness Week is promoted regionally and nationally with the goal of attracting visitors during the week and to brand Calistoga as a place to rest, relax and rejuvenate.

Funding Source: Marketing for this program is funded by the Chamber of Commerce.

Number of Attendees: 90%-100% occupancy for the week

Visitor/Local Attendance Ratio: 70% visitors at events. 30% local participation

Concerts in the Park

Occurs: Thursdays in June, July and August

Event Description: A weekly outdoor free concert featuring regional bands performing a variety of genres. Wine is available for purchase.

Promotion of Calistoga: The Concerts in the Park series occurs on a mid-week day(Thursday), encouraging visitors to extend their summer stays or to visit Calistoga during the week.

Funding Source: This program is fully funded by local sponsors.

Number of Attendees: 400–800 people per week

Visitor/Local Attendance Ratio: Approximately 25% visitors, 75% Calistogans

Calistoga Harvest Table

Occurs: Sunday after Labor Day Weekend

Event Description: A signature Calistoga experience which celebrates the successful harvest season with a multi-course dinner served by Calistoga restaurants.

Promotion of Calistoga: Calistoga Harvest Table highlights the culinary scene and wine region of Calistoga. The experience is highly unique and memorable, generating incredible photographs and press coverage.

Funding Source: This event is funded by participation fees and beer and wine sales.

Number of Attendees: 1,000–1,200 people

Visitor/Local Attendance Ratio: Approximately 50% visitors, 50% Calistogans

Calistoga Lighted Tractor Parade

Occurs: First Saturday in December

Event Description: A nationally recognized annual holiday parade featuring lighted and decorated vehicles, including tractors, construction and utility vehicles and floats.

Promotion of Calistoga: The Calistoga Lighted Tractor Parade began in the late 1990sas a small, community event. Today, it brings tens of thousands of people to stay in Calistoga and kick off the holiday season.

Funding Source: This event is fully funded by generous sponsorship donations from local businesses and residents.

Number of Attendees: 15,000+ people

Visitor/Local Attendance Ratio: Approximately 75% visitors, 25% Calistogans
